Colin Burgess noted that it was a particularly sensitive and delicate subject, because “Prince Charles was clearly Queen Mother’s favourite grandchild”.

The relationship between Queen Mother and Princess Diana: “For her part, while she had all the time in the world for Prince Charles, it was quite clear that the Queen Mother had no love at all for the Princess of Wales, Diana. “Once Princess Diana split from Prince Charles, she was very much persona non grata, and nobody never again heard her name mentioned by, or in front of, the Queen Mum, not even a couple of months after Princess Diana’s death, by which time Colin Burgess had left her to employ.

“Princess Diana and Prince Charles split in 1992 and finalized their divorce four years later – after Diana’s explosive allegation that “there were three in the marriage”; a reference to Prince Charles’ now-wife, Camilla Parker-Bowles. “I desperately want it to work; I love my husband and want to share everything together. And I thought we were a perfect team”, said Diana in an infamous interview.

Prince Harry

Prince Harry displays a sweet photo with mum, Diana, during a surprise virtual appearance

Prince Harry

Prince Harry was surrounded by personal touches as he made a surprise virtual appearance to help his green travel initiative.

The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, appeared at Travalyst’s annual convening on April 16.

On April 16, the Duke of Sussex appeared via video to speak at Travalyst’s annual convening in the South of France, where he suggested the travel industry to put sustainability at the heart of tourism.

Displayed on the bookshelf behind Prince Harry appeared to be a photo of him as a boy with his late mother, Princess Diana. The picture, which was also featured in black-and-white in Harry’s memoir Spare, showed a young Harry wrapping his arms around his mother as he also rests his head on her shoulder. Princess Diana died in August 1997 following a car crash in Paris when Prince Harry was just 12.

Eagle-eyed royal fans also spotted that the top of the bookshelf featured a sketch of Meghan Markle featuring the outfits that the Duchess of Sussex wore during the couple’s visit to New York City in September 2021. The visit saw the pair take to the stage at Global Citizen Live and tour the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, marking their first joint public appearances since welcoming their daughter Princess Lilibet, now 2, in June 2021.

Jennifer Vallez, the Connecticut-based illustrator behind the artwork, previously told PEOPLE how her pieces became part of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s household after an image of their family was spotted in the background of a previous video.

“I received an email from Meghan’s assistant expressing appreciation for my illustrations documenting the Duke and Duchess’ love story. They conveyed a desire to support my work,” Vallez said. “I was aware they got my art when Meghan sent a lovely handwritten thank-you note. However, I wasn’t sure how they’d showcase it. The fact that one of my prints is now in Prince Harry’s office is simply surreal!”

Also on the bookcase behind Prince Harry was a book that said “California” on the spine, nodding to the state where Harry and Meghan reside with son Prince Archie, 4, and daughter Princess Lilibet. During his virtual appearance, Prince Harry spoke with people who have been impacted by travel and tourism and stressed that “we must do better by the people who are the custodians of the places we visit.”

“Travel and tourism rely on destinations, held together by communities, without which we have nowhere to travel to,” Harry said, adding that “communities are the beating heart of travel.”

“We’ve heard from some fantastic organizations like Invisible Cities who train people affected by homelessness to be tour guides in their city, and Global Himalayan Expedition, whose programs have helped electrify over 200 Himalayan villages impacting over 60,000 lives for the better,” he continued. “More and more people are wanting to make informed travel choices so that the benefit of travel is felt by all. Travalyst and its partners bring a combined market value of nearly $3 trillion and are working hard to provide that resource at a systems level.”

“I think having Prince Harry involved in these sorts of discussions is vital,” said Sally Davey, CEO at Travalyst. “It demonstrates how critical it is to have community voices at the heart of everything that we’re doing. We were there to listen, as was Prince Harry, to hear those voices, to learn, and to understand how can do better by those people and those places.”

“It’s so obvious that he cares,” she added. Prince Harry launched the initiative in September 2019 and shared how it was inspired by an unexpected interaction with a young boy he met during a visit to a coral reef replanting project in the Caribbean back in 2012.

“I had a 7-year-old come up to me, tug my shirt, and say with such conviction: ‘Because of your country, my country’s coral reef is dying,’ ” Harry recalled during his speech. “This boy, despite his age, had touched on a powerful truth. He already understood that the environmental damage caused to the reef was created by the actions of people outside his country. And he was absolutely spot on.” “His words deeply affected me because they revealed the full impact outsiders can have on a community without even realizing it,” he added.

Prince Harry’s appearance on April 16 comes after his and Meghan’s Archewell Productions revealed that two new nonfiction series are in the “early stages” of production at Netflix, with one of the series providing viewers with “unprecedented access to the world of professional polo,” a sport Harry has played for decades.

How Kate Middleton handles fame differently than Diana did?

Kate Middleton

While Kate Middleton is taking a step back from royal duties amid her cancer diagnosis, we take a look back at how she’s handled public scrutiny over the years.

How Kate Middleton is handling fame differently than the late Princess Diana did?

In the world of royalty, where every step is monitored, Kate Middleton and Princess Diana stand out as two iconic figures who have left unforgettable marks on the monarchy. Despite sharing the same spotlight, their methods to tackle fame and public life are notably distinct. Let’s try and understand how Kate Middleton’s handling of fame differs from that of the late Princess Diana.

1. Relationship with Media:

Princess Diana, known as the “People’s Princess,” had a complicated relationship with the media. She frequently engaged with journalists and photographers, using the media to strengthen her charitable causes and individual struggles. Diana’s susceptibility endeared her to the public, but it also made her vulnerable to intense media scrutiny and intrusion into her private life.

On the other hand, Kate Middleton has kept a more reserved stance. While she acknowledges the significance of press coverage, she manages to stick closely to royal protocol and carefully picks her engagements with the media.

Kate’s approach differs from Princess Diana’s in a way that she tends to focus on specific causes that align with her interests and passions. Whether supporting children’s mental health initiatives or promoting early childhood development, Kate’s charity work reflects her dedication to making a meaningful impact in areas that resonate with her.

She frequently opts for tailored ensembles and sophisticated pieces that reflect her status as a modern royal. While she may occasionally experiment with trends, Kate’s style remains rooted in tradition and sophistication, earning her admiration as a fashion icon in her own right.

4. Public Persona:

Princess Diana’s magnetic nature and vulnerability endeared her to millions around the world. She was known for her warmth, kindness, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Diana’s willingness to share her personal struggles, including her battle with bulimia and her troubled marriage, made her relatable and beloved by many.

Adorable photos show Kate Middleton and Princess Diana’s similar parenting style

Kate

Kate Middleton is often hailed as being an excellent, hands-on mum to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

These six Kate Middleton parenting styles mirror the late Princess Diana and we cannot get over these uncanny resemblance.

The cute little royals are often very well-behaved when they are out in public, and according to a body language expert, Kate raises William and Harry in a similar loving manner to Princess Diana. Every adult parent, regardless of the size of the family or experience, has a unique parenting style. Some may prefer helicopter or gentle parenting, but there is also permissive parenting, in which parents treat their children more as friends than as parents.

Parenting experts have praised Kate Middleton’s approach, which has been described as a “relatable” blend of traditional and modern elements. A royal expert has also noted that Kate Middleton’s parenting style is similar to that of her late mother-in-law, who raised her two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, before her untimely death.

Hello!’s online royal correspondent Danielle Stacey noted, “Based on observations of photographs of Princess Diana at the time, and the current Princess of Wales, they are both very affectionate with their children.

“Kate is often seen holding her children’s hands or picking them up for cuddles when they were smaller.” “There are a lot of comforting gestures, like a pat on the back or stroking their hair,” she goes on. On her public appearances, Kate frequently lowers herself to the level of the kids to communicate with them, something Diana would also frequently do.”

Body language expert Judi James has previously discussed how Kate has been observed bending down to comfort her children during public engagements. One such instance is when Kate leaned in to talk to Princess Charlotte during a royal engagement to see helicopter models H145 and H135 before their official visit to Poland and Germany in 2017. Princess Charlotte looked upset at the time.
