Queen Elizabeth’s last words on Archie & Lilibet: Fascinating details disclosed by Prince Harry

Prince Harry

Queen Elizabeth passed away in 2022. But Prince Harry will always remember the time she spent with his two children, Archie and Lilibet.

Prince Harry talked about the lovely encounter his two young children, Lilibet and Archie, had with Queen Elizabeth II just before her passing.

Despite the family rivalry that erupted in the last years of Queen Elizabeth II’s life, Prince Harry and his late grandmother shared a close relationship. At 96 years old, the Queen passed away. During a voyage back to the UK, Harry revealed the last moments the late monarch spent with his children, Archie and Lilibet.

In a newly resurfaced excerpt from his memoir, Spare (courtesy of Buzzfeed News), Prince Harry recalled “the final visit” between his kids and his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. The Duke of Sussex, 39, described his children’s behaviour during the long-awaited meeting.

“Archie making deep, chivalrous bows, his baby sister Lilibet cuddling the monarch’s shins,” he wrote. Queen Elizabeth immediately complimented the kids on their manners. “Sweetest children, Granny said, sounding bemused,” Prince Harry added.

The Duke of Sussex disclosed that the children’s excellent behaviour took aback Queen Elizabeth. He remarked, “I think she had expected them to be a little more…American.” “Meaning more boisterous, in her opinion.”

Following the funeral, Prince Harry went to California and acknowledged that his interactions with his children had changed as a result of Queen Elizabeth’s passing. It also made him realize how valuable that last visit had been.

He then on, alluding to his wife Meghan Markle, “We couldn’t stop hugging the children, couldn’t let them out of our sight, for days and days.” “Yet I also couldn’t stop thinking about them with Granny.”

Prince Harry displays a sweet photo with mum, Diana, during a surprise virtual appearance

Prince Harry

Prince Harry was surrounded by personal touches as he made a surprise virtual appearance to help his green travel initiative.

The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, appeared at Travalyst’s annual convening on April 16.

On April 16, the Duke of Sussex appeared via video to speak at Travalyst’s annual convening in the South of France, where he suggested the travel industry to put sustainability at the heart of tourism.

Displayed on the bookshelf behind Prince Harry appeared to be a photo of him as a boy with his late mother, Princess Diana. The picture, which was also featured in black-and-white in Harry’s memoir Spare, showed a young Harry wrapping his arms around his mother as he also rests his head on her shoulder. Princess Diana died in August 1997 following a car crash in Paris when Prince Harry was just 12.

Eagle-eyed royal fans also spotted that the top of the bookshelf featured a sketch of Meghan Markle featuring the outfits that the Duchess of Sussex wore during the couple’s visit to New York City in September 2021. The visit saw the pair take to the stage at Global Citizen Live and tour the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, marking their first joint public appearances since welcoming their daughter Princess Lilibet, now 2, in June 2021.

Jennifer Vallez, the Connecticut-based illustrator behind the artwork, previously told PEOPLE how her pieces became part of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s household after an image of their family was spotted in the background of a previous video.

“I received an email from Meghan’s assistant expressing appreciation for my illustrations documenting the Duke and Duchess’ love story. They conveyed a desire to support my work,” Vallez said. “I was aware they got my art when Meghan sent a lovely handwritten thank-you note. However, I wasn’t sure how they’d showcase it. The fact that one of my prints is now in Prince Harry’s office is simply surreal!”

Also on the bookcase behind Prince Harry was a book that said “California” on the spine, nodding to the state where Harry and Meghan reside with son Prince Archie, 4, and daughter Princess Lilibet. During his virtual appearance, Prince Harry spoke with people who have been impacted by travel and tourism and stressed that “we must do better by the people who are the custodians of the places we visit.”

“Travel and tourism rely on destinations, held together by communities, without which we have nowhere to travel to,” Harry said, adding that “communities are the beating heart of travel.”

“We’ve heard from some fantastic organizations like Invisible Cities who train people affected by homelessness to be tour guides in their city, and Global Himalayan Expedition, whose programs have helped electrify over 200 Himalayan villages impacting over 60,000 lives for the better,” he continued. “More and more people are wanting to make informed travel choices so that the benefit of travel is felt by all. Travalyst and its partners bring a combined market value of nearly $3 trillion and are working hard to provide that resource at a systems level.”

“I think having Prince Harry involved in these sorts of discussions is vital,” said Sally Davey, CEO at Travalyst. “It demonstrates how critical it is to have community voices at the heart of everything that we’re doing. We were there to listen, as was Prince Harry, to hear those voices, to learn, and to understand how can do better by those people and those places.”

“It’s so obvious that he cares,” she added. Prince Harry launched the initiative in September 2019 and shared how it was inspired by an unexpected interaction with a young boy he met during a visit to a coral reef replanting project in the Caribbean back in 2012.

“I had a 7-year-old come up to me, tug my shirt, and say with such conviction: ‘Because of your country, my country’s coral reef is dying,’ ” Harry recalled during his speech. “This boy, despite his age, had touched on a powerful truth. He already understood that the environmental damage caused to the reef was created by the actions of people outside his country. And he was absolutely spot on.” “His words deeply affected me because they revealed the full impact outsiders can have on a community without even realizing it,” he added.

Prince Harry’s appearance on April 16 comes after his and Meghan’s Archewell Productions revealed that two new nonfiction series are in the “early stages” of production at Netflix, with one of the series providing viewers with “unprecedented access to the world of professional polo,” a sport Harry has played for decades.

Prince Harry reveals his one habit that Meghan still doesn’t understand

Prince Harry

The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry has opened up about his weird routine that drives his wife, Meghan Markle, crazy.

Prince Harry reveals his one home habit that Meghan fails to understand inspired by King Charles.

Whether it’s checking all the windows in the house are shut before going to bed or unplugging every kitchen electrical appliance to avoid burning down the house, we’re all guilty of creating unconventional habits at home. But don’t worry as Prince Harry has spilled the beans on his quirky home habits for all his royal fans.

Prince Harry, once a prominent member of the British royal family with his wife Meghan Markle, has always enchanted the public with his life behind palace walls. While much attention has been focused on their departure from royal duties, little is known about the Duke’s day-to-day routines within the confines of his home.

Prince Harry and Meghan have been married together for almost six years now, but he’s disclosed that there’s one habit of his that his wife still doesn’t understand. The Duke of Sussex said he’s a stickler for turning the lights off when he leaves a room – something that’s been planted in both him and his brother Prince William by their eco-conscious dad, Prince Charles.

Speaking in the BBC documentary, Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70, the 34-year-old said: “He’s a stickler for turning lights off and that’s now something that I’m obsessed with.” William added: “I know, I’ve got serious OCD with light switches now.”

Harry then shared his wife’s views on the “obsession” and asked if Kate felt the same, saying: “Which is insane because I don’t know if your wife does it but my wife certainly goes, ‘Well, why turn the lights off? It’s dark. I go, ‘We only need one light, we don’t need, like, six,’ and all of a sudden, it becomes a habit.”

Meghan moved into Prince Harry’s home, Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace, when they announced their engagement in November 2017. The couple got married in May 2018 and Prince Archie was born a year later in 2019. In 2020 the couple decided to leave the royal family and Princess Lilibet Diana was born a year later.

While Prince Harry and Meghan ventured on their journey beyond the royal family, their home habits took on new meaning. No longer restrained by the rules of royal protocol, they were free to adopt a more flexible and personalized approach to domestic life. From casual family dinners to unplanned outings with friends, their home became a sanctuary where they could truly be themselves.

Despite their departure from royal duties, Prince Harry and Meghan remain committed to their core values, including environmental conservation, philanthropy, and family. While their decision to step back from royal life may have been met with scepticism by some, it allowed them the privilege to prioritize what truly mattered to them: their happiness, well-being, and the well-being of their children.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s net worth has been revealed four years after their royal exit

Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry reside in a lavish mansion in Montecito, California with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s mansion is reportedly worth $14 million (£11m), with the couple living close to the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres and Katy Perry.

According to reports, the Sussexes have a combined net worth of $60 million (£48m), despite their stepping down from their roles as senior working royals in 2020 and being forced to repay the taxpayer costs for the renovation of Frogmore Cottage, their former Windsor home.

In May 2020, it was reported that the Duke and Duchess would repay taxpayer costs for the Frogmore Cottage renovations, with them planning to make the payments over the next decade. The total refurbishment costs were estimated at around £2.4 million, meaning they would pay around £18,000 a month until completely paid in full.

Since moving from England to the States, the couple have secured several lucrative deals. In 2020, the same year that they announced their royal departure, the couple signed a deal with Netflix which was reportedly worth around $100 million (£80m). They then secured a $20 million (£17m) advance from publisher Penguin Random House for a reported four-book deal, which included Spare.

The couple also signed a lucrative $25 million (£18m) deal with Spotify in late 2020, which saw Meghan Markle release her Archetypes podcast. A joint statement from the couple’s company, Archewell, and streaming platform Spotify said that they had “mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together,” but later a Spotify executive branded the couple “f***ing grifters”.

The Sussexes’ many lucrative deals came in after announcing they were retiring from royal duties. When the couple were working royals they received 95% of their annual income from Harry’s father, the King. According to reports, The taxpayer-funded Sovereign Grant made up the other 5% of the Sussexes’ earnings. And when they stepped down as senior royals, King Charles gave them “a substantial sum”, according to reports.

Meanwhile, before Meghan Markle married into the British Royal Family, she was worth an estimated $5 million (£3.5m). Prior to meeting the Prince, Meghan was an actress working on the hit legal drama Suits. Meghan famously portrayed the role of Rachel Zane in the hit TV show, with her earning a reported $50,000 per episode (£37K).

Prince Harry feels ‘more spare than ever’ after Kate’s cancer diagnosis, says royal expert

Prince Harry

Royal expert Dr Tessa Dunlop suggests Prince Harry’s feelings might be conflicted following Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis.

The gulf between Prince Harry and his family was never more evident than in the wake of Princess Kate’s sad cancer announcement.

Harry, who used to be incredibly close to his sister–in-law, was only informed about her diagnosis a short time before her video was released to the public. There was even a ‘strategy’ put in place regarding the Sussexes and when they should be told.

It’s not long until Harry returns to the UK in May to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. And there is speculation he and William could reunite and start to heal their rift – not least because of Kate’s health diagnosis. But, Harry and Meghan are on the back foot, according to royal historian and expert Dr Tessa Dunlop. Highlighting his self-described role as the ‘spare,’ Dr Dunlop speculates Harry may feel even more isolated within the family

Shortly after Kate Middleton’s brave video message about her cancer diagnosis was broadcast, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared a private message of support to the Prince and Princess of Wales, according to a report by the Independent.

Royal author Dr Tessa Dunlop told the Mirror: “Harry is the self-identifying royal ‘spare’. And in the wake of his sister-in-law’s health revelations, I expect he feels more spare than ever,” as quoted by the Independent.

Amid concerns of a growing rift, speculation has arisen about Harry’s potential visit to his brother William when he returns to the UK this May to host an event for the Invictus games, as per the report.

Dr Dunlop expressed compassion for the couple, who left their royal duties for a life in California in 2020. She added, “No, they don’t have cancer, and yes, they have been publicly critical of the British Royal Family. But in our own families, how many of us hold back our feelings on the off-chance a sibling or sister-in-law might get sick?” as quoted by the Independent.

Despite the public scrutiny and potential conspiracy theories, Harry’s conflicted emotions seem to stem from his desire to support his sister-in-law while grappling with his self-proclaimed status as the “spare” heir. As the family navigates this challenging period, all eyes are on the dynamics between the brothers and their respective support systems, the report further added.

Princess Catherine’s recent cancer diagnosis has brought attention to a concerning trend – an increasing number of younger adults being affected by the disease. Despite being only 42 years old and otherwise healthy, the Princess of Wales’s diagnosis highlights that cancer is no longer a condition primarily associated with older individuals.
