Prince William

Have you seen Prince William’s jaw-dropping full beard in this partying photo with Kate?

Prince

Have you ever wondered what the future king, Prince William, would look like in a full beard?

The Prince of Wales briefly rocked a full face of facial hair before he was asked to shave it off.

Prince William has been clean-shaven since his twenties, but that hasn’t always been the case for the Prince of Wales, who proudly rocked a full beard for a brief moment in 2008. Most royal fans will have seen the now-famous photograph of a bearded Prince William at Sandringham on Christmas Day in 2008 after it reemerged on social media.

Prince Harry was the first to sport a beard on his wedding day to Meghan Markle after receiving formal permission from his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. Writing of the moment his facial hair caused tension with his brother, however, Harry revealed William offered a “bristled” response to his polite request. “Not the done thing, he [William] said. Military rules, and so forth.”

Harry wrote in his book Spare” that his brother “wouldn’t let it go” and that the disagreement continued “in person, on the phone, for more than a week” before William admitted that his grievance with Harry’s facial hair was because he wasn’t allowed to keep his.

Harry added: “Ah, there it was. After he’d come back from an assignment with Special Forces, Willy was sporting a full beard, and someone told him to be a good boy, run along and shave it. He hated the idea of me enjoying a perk he’d been denied.”

Prince William’s albeit brief encounter with facial hair in the noughties defines a playful and coming-of-age era of the royal’s life. He had only recently graduated from St Andrews University, had rekindled with a young Kate Middleton after their high-profile split, and was just about to serve on attachment to the Royal Air Force.

Prince William and Kate going to a party in 2008

In unearthed photographs captured from 2008, Prince William and Princess Kate, who was then just the royal’s girlfriend, were seen leaving the darkly glamorous Whisky Mist nightclub. William looks almost unrecognisable in the photos as he rocks a full, bushy beard.

Reports at the time reveal that Kate had gone for a dinner date with her sister Pippa Middleton at ‘Eight Over Eight’ restaurant in Chelsea. Kate then arrived at Whiskey Mist just after midnight for a night of dancing with her boyfriend Prince William.

Given the Prince of Wales’ more senior role in the Firm, it seems unlikely we’ll ever see him with a beard again – but these photos certainly serve up some noughties nostalgia…

Royal fans are curious about the title Carole Middleton will get when William becomes King

Carole Middleton

Carole Middleton has been a huge support to her daughter, famously helping orchestrate her marriage to the future King.

As a royal fan have you ever wondered what title Carole Middleton will get when William becomes the King?

If you’re wondering what Kate Middleton’s mother’s royal title will be when William takes the throne, you might be disappointed. There’s increasing chatter about the next chapter of the British royal family as the 75-year-old King Charles undergoes treatment for an undisclosed kind of cancer. The monarch immediately began treatment, and in the months since, there has been much speculation about how his condition has progressed—with some sources even claiming that his health is “not good.”

Royal expert Katie Nicholl hit back against these reports. “There have been claims in some media outlets that the king is not doing well in his cancer battle. I think the announcements out of the palace and… the king’s imminent return to public duties should stop such nonsense in its track, quite frankly,” Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight. Though as the Kind’s eldest son, William will become king eventually, which means Catherine will be queen. Here’s what that means for Kate Middleton‘s mother’s royal title.

Kate Middleton’s mother won’t get a royal title, according to reports, quite simply because she’s not a royal. Per the Royal Family website, the monarch is the “fountain of honor” in the UK and has the “sole right” of conferring titles of honor. However, it’s understood that new hereditary peerages are typically only granted to members of the Royal Family.

Carole won’t receive the title of Queen Mother, either, because that is reserved for someone who is the mother of the current monarch and the widow of the former King. The last Queen Mother was Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, the mother of Queen Elizabeth II and wife of King George VI.

Even Queen Camilla won’t receive the title if she is widowed when Prince William ascends to the throne, as she’s not Prince William’s mother. She would, however, become a Dowager Queen or Queen Dowager should Charles pass away during his reign.

Carole and her husband Michael are said to be facing serious debt that they are reportedly unable to pay off. According to The Times newspaper, the couple cannot come up with the “£260,000 (over $329,000) insolvency firm costs” for their struggling business, The Party Pieces Company. The company, founded in 1987 by the Middletons, went into administration last June, owing creditors £2.6 million.

According to insiders quoted in Us Weekly, Carole is trying to protect her daughter from the family’s money woes, with the desire for Catherine to focus solely on getting better. “Carole is desperately trying to keep Catherine fully focused on her recovery,” a source told Us.

“It’s a very worrying time for the family but they are not looking for any assistance from their children and don’t want them to worry.” The source continued: “Catherine and her parents are very close and they always check in with each other, but talk about the business is off limits as she needs to focus on her health.”

Prince William reveals Princess Charlotte’s favourite ‘dad joke’

Prince William

Prince William turned up at a West Midlands school to surprise a student who had penned a personal letter to him about mental health.

The importance of treating mental health with the same emphasis as physical health is a cornerstone of Prince William and Kate’s charity work.

Prince William just gave a glimmer into Princess Charlotte’s sense of humour. The Prince of Wales, 41, revealed during a visit to St. Michael’s Church of England High School in Sandwell on April 25 to hear about their mental health initiatives. During a small group session to record for the school radio show, Prince William was asked to share a “dad joke,” but he opted to quote a classic that is a current hit with his 8-year-old daughter, Princess Charlotte.

“I am here with the gang talking about male mental health, and I’ve been asked to produce a dad joke. I was trying to channel Jack Whitehall because most of his jokes are pretty dad-like,” the royal began referring to the British actor and comedian, as seen in a video shared to X by Rebecca English of the Daily Mail.

“I think what I’ll do is say a joke that is Charlotte’s favourite joke at the moment, that she keeps telling me,” he told the pupils, adding that they’d have to interact for it to work. “Knock knock,” Prince William began. “Who’s there?” the students replied in unison.   “Interrupting cow,” Prince William continued.

As the kids started to reply, “Interrupting cow who?” Prince William interjected with “Moo!” prompting giggles from the group. “That’s the one I hear a lot of at home at the moment,” said the royal dad, who shares Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, 6, with his wife, Kate Middleton. “That’s the greatest one I can think of that’s clean and broadcastable,” he added with a laugh before receiving a compliment from one special student. “It’s good, it’s good!” said 12-year-old Freddie Hadley, who sat next to the Prince of Wales.

St. Michael’s Church of England High School came on the royal’s radar after Freddie wrote a letter to Prince William and Princess Kate, 42. Freddie invited the royal couple to the school’s celebrations for World Mental Health Day in October 2023.

King Charles’ elder son replied with a personal message on X: “Good afternoon Freddie, I’m so sorry Catherine and I can’t be with you and the rest of the students at St Michael’s today. Tackling mental health challenges and stigmas head-on is so important, please keep up this important work.”

Prince William signed the message “W,” indicating that the note came directly from him. On April 25, the pair finally got to meet when the royal visited the school, where Prince William told Freddie, “Your letter worked.”

Prince William saw firsthand the Matrix Project work, which Freddie highlighted in his letter for bringing boys aged 11 to 14 together to develop ideas and projects to tackle mental health challenges. He joined a session with some of the boys and was told how they launched the #AmIManlyEnough campaign to encourage men to communicate their feelings and tackle taboos surrounding mental health.

Freddie tells PEOPLE that it was a “massive shock” to see Prince William arrive at his school. “He is a very nice guy,” the student says. “When I sat down with him about what we do in school with our Matrix Project, I got more comfortable and I felt like I got into his way of thinking about it. He asked us about why we do our stuff and why he is an advocate for male mental health.”

Freddie adds that William “said from working with charities for mental health he realizes — as he’s a male himself — he’s gone through those things before. He realizes it is such a massive thing in today’s society, and he wanted to step up and get these issues sorted out.”

Prince William’s latest sacrifice proves his loyalty to Kate is stronger than ever

Kate

In the realm of love and loyalty, Prince William’s latest gesture towards Kate Middleton shines as a beacon of devotion.

Prince William’s relentless commitment to Kate Middleton has once again captured hearts worldwide.

Juggling royal obligations, personal hurdles, and the endless public spotlight, Prince William has shown us yet again his extraordinary strength and unwavering loyalty, especially towards his wife, Kate Middleton.

In the face of recent health challenges hitting close to home, with both his father and wife battling cancer, William’s made a choice to miss a significant event that truly emphasises his dedication — not just as a companion, but as a key figure of the British royal family.

Prince William has reportedly decided to skip the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Samoa, which King Charles still plans on attending.

An insider disclosed to Express, “Attending the CHOGM is not something William can take on at this time due to Kate’s health, and although Anne and other working royals are doing a fantastic job stepping in to plug the gaps at home, they are not viewed as high level enough to represent the sovereign as leader of the Commonwealth.”

While this might appear like a miniature gesture to some, those who comprehend the weight of such events know it’s a big deal. CHOGM isn’t just any meeting; it’s a key moment where leaders from across the Commonwealth come jointly to discuss major global issues and strategies for cooperation. Other royal family members, like Princess Anne and Prince Edward, won’t be heading to the event either, as their roles aren’t considered senior enough.

The shock of Middleton’s cancer diagnosis threw the royal couple into unknown waters. Prince William originally felt “helpless and scared.” Despite these underwhelming emotions, William has stayed dedicated to his wife’s side, assisting with their children and being a constant source of comfort.

The strain of these health battles has also led to an unexpected development within the royal family. Prince William and Queen Camilla have reportedly formed a “tender relationship” amidst the crisis, united in their roles as caregivers to their spouses.

This moment peels back the curtain on the personal sacrifices and tough calls faced by those in the spotlight. William’s choice to prioritize his wife’s health over global commitments deeply reflects his loyalty to her and serves as a reminder that beneath the formal regalia, they grapple with life’s challenges just like the rest of us.

Prince William reveals Queen Camilla really loves to ‘spoil’ her grandchildren

Prince William

Prince William recently shared heartwarming insights into Queen Camilla’s love for spoiling her grandchildren.

In a candid interview, Prince William opened up about Queen Camilla’s penchant for showering her grandchildren with love and affection.

Queen Camilla may be known to the public as Camilla, Queen Consort, but before that, she is a doting grandmother to many grandchildren and the insight she’s given into her grandparenting duties proves she knows how to have fun with them.

Like many grandparents, Camilla revealed that she often undertakes ‘babysitting duties’ for her grandkids! However, with her busy schedule, we can assume she isn’t like most grandparents who look after their grandchildren while their parents are at work – she’s got her hectic duties with The royal family to worry about.

Through her marriage to Prince Charles, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall counts the Cambridge children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis and the Sussex children Archie and Lilibet, as her step-grandchildren. But she also has five grandchildren through her children Tom Parker Bowles and Laura Lopes: Lola, Frederick, Eliza, Gus and Louis. Camilla is a devoted grandmother, and in a recent interview, she touched upon her close relationship with all of her grandchildren.

To mark her 75th birthday in 2022, Camilla told British Vogue that she loves to “spoil” her grandchildren and that she frequently picks one granddaughter up from school when she is nearby to spend some quality time together.

She said to the magazine’s Giles Hattersley: “You know the nice thing about being a grandmother is that you can spoil them occasionally, give them more of the things that their parents forbid them to have. “One’s at a school very near my house, so when I am in Wiltshire and her parents are away, I can nip over and pick her up and take her home.

In addition to texting and spending time together after school, reading is a big part of Camilla’s royal work, and she has spoken about how she involves her grandchildren in the pastime too.

But whether or not they have pink, blue, purple, or orange hair, Camilla adores her grandkids and her role as grandmother. “I’d recommend it to everybody,” she said in a 2018 documentary when asked about being a grandmother. “It’s very nice because you haven’t got the full responsibility. You can give them a wonderful time, spoil them, give them all the things their parents won’t allow them to have and then give them back again.”

Spoiling them seems to be an important part of Camilla’s grandparenting duties, making her the grandparent who science has found is more likely to spoil their grandchildren than the other. She joked when visiting the headquarters of British jewellery designer Monica Vinader that her granddaughters had ‘started dropping quite a lot of hints about things they would like for their birthdays’ when they found out she was meeting the iconic designer – what a perfect gift!
