Catherine once gave Prince Harry this savage Christmas present

Christmas

Prince William’s wife the Princess of Wales, Catherine, once bought Prince Harry a hilarious Christmas present as a joke to mock his past failed romances.

Prince Harry was said to be close to Kate Middleton before he and his wife Meghan Markle stepped down from their royal duties in 2020 and moved to the United States.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not spent Christmas with the royals since 2018. It was earlier reported that Kate Middleton bought Prince Harry a “grow-your-own-girlfriend” kit. Why? The royal family has a tradition of giving gag gifts on Christmas Eve as they honour their German heritage by opening their presents after they’ve had their afternoon tea on the day.

“The gifts were on trestle tables in the white drawing room where the names were at each table for each family, ” a report claimed. During Meghan Markle’s first Christmas with the royal family, she bought the late Queen Elizabeth a singing hamster.

What other Christmas traditions does the royal family have?

Former royal chef Darren McGrady said that the royal family’s Christmas morning is usually subject to a gender divide owing to which Prince William and Kate Middleton have their coffee in separate rooms on the day.

“On Christmas Day, the ladies generally opt for a light breakfast of sliced fruit, half a grapefruit, toast, and coffee delivered to their rooms—the Queen’s tray is delivered at exactly 9:00 a.m.,” Darren McGrady said.

The ex-royal chef also said, “The male royals, meanwhile, come downstairs to the dining room for a hearty breakfast at 8:30 a.m., with eggs, bacon and mushrooms, kippers, and grilled kidneys, to set them up for the 11:00 a.m. church service at St Mary Magdalene. When they return, it’s straight into pre-lunch drinks.”

Expert suggests 5 ways Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can revive their popularity

Meghan Markle

The Sussexes’, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, popularity in the UK hit an all-time low at 68%.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle settled in the US after Megxit in 2020.

Since then, they have started losing their popularity in the United Kingdom. A recent YouGov survey revealed that their popularity is at an all-time low, as 68% of respondents feel negatively about them. In the world of royals, popularity can wax and wane like the tides. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, once the darlings of the monarchy, have faced their fair share of ups and downs in the public eye.

Be open about struggles: Encouraging openness, the expert suggested that the couple share more about their personal challenges. By discussing their life’s difficulties openly, including aspects of their life as working parents, they could become more relatable to the public.

Focus on passions: The expert said Harry and Meghan Markle should focus on projects that highlight their personal interests rather than their royal background. She recommended they present a new side of their personality to the public. For instance, their new TV shows could focus on what they are passionate about.

Build bridges with the royal family: To improve their public image, Lynn proposed that Harry and Meghan Markle start mending bridges with the royal family. This could help soften the public’s perception and ease the existing tensions.

Doria Ragland has the sweetest thing to say about son-in-law, Prince Harry

Prince Harry

Prince Harry shares a special relationship with her mother-in-law, Doria who often praises his ‘great manners’.

Meghan Markle’s mum Doria Ragland has revealed she was fond of her son-in-law Prince Harry from the moment they first met.

The former yoga instructor and make-up artist, 66, from LA, has become a huge part of the Sussexes’ life since they moved to California. While Prince Harry and Meghan’s relationship with the royal family may have stained, his relationship with his wife Meghan Markle’s mother Doria Ragland has gone from strength to strength.

Geographically, the Duke of Sussex’s mother-in-law lives very close to the Montecito home he shares with Meghan Markle and their two children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. But location aside, Harry and Meghan have chosen to share some very special moments with the yoga instructor and psychotherapist, including summer breaks and special anniversaries.

While Doria is notoriously private, only breaking her silence on her daughter’s relationship with the Prince in their Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, there have been a few occasions when fans have got a glimpse inside Harry and Doria’s close bond behind closed doors…

Doria opened up about when the news broke that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex first began dating in 2016. Despite saying she was “stalked” by paparazzi and “felt unsafe a lot,” the doting mother did not let this colour her view of Harry. Sharing her positive first impressions, she said: “He was 6’1, a handsome man with red hair, really great manners. He was just really nice. And they looked really happy together. Yeah, like he was the one.”

One year after their relationship became public, King Charles III’s youngest son clarified that the couple had become very involved in one another’s families. During their engagement interview in 2017, the happy couple revealed they had spent lots of time with Meghan’s mother.

“I’m sure the onset, both my parents and my close friends were concerned, because we got very quickly swept up in a media storm that, as I shared, was not part of my life before that, but they also had never seen me so happy,” she said of the start of their relationship.  “And I think also once my friends – excuse me, were able to – to really meet Harry, and my mum, who we’ve spent a lot of time with, who is so much fun.” Prince Harry added: “Her mum’s amazing.”

Following their royal wedding in 2018, which Meghan reportedly planned with input from Doria, the Duke and Duchess spent their summer break in a private Cotswolds home where Doria reportedly visited them. Royal correspondent Omid Scobie later wrote on Twitter: “Doria is said to enjoy a close relationship with Harry and continues to be a pillar of strength for Meghan.”

They also decided to share their low-key first wedding anniversary with Doria in 2019. In Finding Freedom, co-authors Omid and Carolyn Durandit wrote: “On the anniversary of their first year of marriage, Harry and Meghan enjoyed a traditional Sunday lunch with Doria, her last meal before travelling back to LA.

Located less than two hours away from Doria’s Los Angeles home, Harry and Meghan’s property boasts a nine-bedroom main house and a separate two-bedroom guesthouse which offers Doria plenty of space to stay – especially if she wants to help out with babysitting duties and spend lots of quality time with her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren.

During these visits, Doria has likely passed on her passion for yoga, which her daughter already shares. Meghan is known to love yoga and other mindful practices, and her husband reportedly embraced an early-morning Buddhist meditation routine.

Prince Harry displays a sweet photo with mum, Diana, during a surprise virtual appearance

Prince Harry

Prince Harry was surrounded by personal touches as he made a surprise virtual appearance to help his green travel initiative.

The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, appeared at Travalyst’s annual convening on April 16.

On April 16, the Duke of Sussex appeared via video to speak at Travalyst’s annual convening in the South of France, where he suggested the travel industry to put sustainability at the heart of tourism.

Displayed on the bookshelf behind Prince Harry appeared to be a photo of him as a boy with his late mother, Princess Diana. The picture, which was also featured in black-and-white in Harry’s memoir Spare, showed a young Harry wrapping his arms around his mother as he also rests his head on her shoulder. Princess Diana died in August 1997 following a car crash in Paris when Prince Harry was just 12.

Eagle-eyed royal fans also spotted that the top of the bookshelf featured a sketch of Meghan Markle featuring the outfits that the Duchess of Sussex wore during the couple’s visit to New York City in September 2021. The visit saw the pair take to the stage at Global Citizen Live and tour the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, marking their first joint public appearances since welcoming their daughter Princess Lilibet, now 2, in June 2021.

Jennifer Vallez, the Connecticut-based illustrator behind the artwork, previously told PEOPLE how her pieces became part of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s household after an image of their family was spotted in the background of a previous video.

“I received an email from Meghan’s assistant expressing appreciation for my illustrations documenting the Duke and Duchess’ love story. They conveyed a desire to support my work,” Vallez said. “I was aware they got my art when Meghan sent a lovely handwritten thank-you note. However, I wasn’t sure how they’d showcase it. The fact that one of my prints is now in Prince Harry’s office is simply surreal!”

Also on the bookcase behind Prince Harry was a book that said “California” on the spine, nodding to the state where Harry and Meghan reside with son Prince Archie, 4, and daughter Princess Lilibet. During his virtual appearance, Prince Harry spoke with people who have been impacted by travel and tourism and stressed that “we must do better by the people who are the custodians of the places we visit.”

“Travel and tourism rely on destinations, held together by communities, without which we have nowhere to travel to,” Harry said, adding that “communities are the beating heart of travel.”

“We’ve heard from some fantastic organizations like Invisible Cities who train people affected by homelessness to be tour guides in their city, and Global Himalayan Expedition, whose programs have helped electrify over 200 Himalayan villages impacting over 60,000 lives for the better,” he continued. “More and more people are wanting to make informed travel choices so that the benefit of travel is felt by all. Travalyst and its partners bring a combined market value of nearly $3 trillion and are working hard to provide that resource at a systems level.”

“I think having Prince Harry involved in these sorts of discussions is vital,” said Sally Davey, CEO at Travalyst. “It demonstrates how critical it is to have community voices at the heart of everything that we’re doing. We were there to listen, as was Prince Harry, to hear those voices, to learn, and to understand how can do better by those people and those places.”

“It’s so obvious that he cares,” she added. Prince Harry launched the initiative in September 2019 and shared how it was inspired by an unexpected interaction with a young boy he met during a visit to a coral reef replanting project in the Caribbean back in 2012.

“I had a 7-year-old come up to me, tug my shirt, and say with such conviction: ‘Because of your country, my country’s coral reef is dying,’ ” Harry recalled during his speech. “This boy, despite his age, had touched on a powerful truth. He already understood that the environmental damage caused to the reef was created by the actions of people outside his country. And he was absolutely spot on.” “His words deeply affected me because they revealed the full impact outsiders can have on a community without even realizing it,” he added.

Prince Harry’s appearance on April 16 comes after his and Meghan’s Archewell Productions revealed that two new nonfiction series are in the “early stages” of production at Netflix, with one of the series providing viewers with “unprecedented access to the world of professional polo,” a sport Harry has played for decades.
